TERMS & CONDITIONS

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY.
By accepting a quotation from Experienced Handyman / Handyman Repair Solutions by Acacia, you are entering into a contract with us and agreeing to the terms below.

Definitions

“We / Us / Our” refers to Handyman Repair Solutions by Acacia.
“You / The Client / The Customer / Your” refers to the person requesting our services and entering into this contract.

1) Contract

The agreed final quotation constitutes a written contract for the exact work to be completed at the quoted price. Any verbal agreements are not binding unless included in writing within the contract.

The contract is between Handyman Repair Solutions by Acacia and the client identified on the quotation.

We will only communicate with the named client unless written permission is provided to deal with a third party.

Acceptance of the quotation (electronically or otherwise) confirms full acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

Please ensure all quotation details are checked carefully.

2) Hours of Work

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:30.

Evening, weekend, or night work may incur additional charges. Weekend or after-hours work is subject to a 50% premium where agreed.

3) Service Area

We operate within a 30-mile radius of Burford, Oxfordshire.

4) Pricing

All prices are based on current material, labour, and equipment costs. Any variations or additional work will be charged on a time and materials basis or quoted separately.

We are not responsible for unseen issues or works not visible at the time of inspection.

5) Payment Terms

Payment is due in full on completion of work via card, bank transfer (BACS), or cash. Cheques are not accepted.

For larger projects, a 25% deposit may be required before commencement.

Late payments will incur a £20 per day surcharge on the outstanding balance.

6) Travel Costs

A travel charge of £0.75 per mile (one way only) applies.

7) Cancellation

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 14 days prior to the scheduled start date.

If cancellation is not provided within this period, a minimum charge of 10% of the total project cost will apply to cover administration and scheduling costs.

If work is cancelled after commencement, a minimum charge of 50% of the total project cost will apply.

Postponements are accepted only if rescheduled within 8 weeks. Otherwise, it will be treated as cancellation.

8) General Guarantee

We guarantee that all supplied materials will match the agreed specification and be of merchantable quality.

Workmanship defects will be rectified within 6 months of completion, provided the issue is reported promptly.

The guarantee does not cover:

Damage caused by misuse or third-party interference
Pre-existing structural defects
Consequential or indirect loss
Emergency call-outs where unrelated damage occurs

Items becoming loose due to poor plaster, misuse, or external factors are not covered under warranty.

9) Quotation Validity

All quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

10) Customer Responsibilities & Site Protection

Clients must remove valuable, fragile, and wall-mounted items prior to work commencing. Electrical goods should also be cleared from work areas where possible.

We may assist with moving bulky items but reserve the right to refuse if there is risk of damage or safety concerns.

We are not liable for damage to items that should have been removed or properly protected.

Any damage must be reported in writing within 24 hours of completion.

11) Public Liability Insurance

We hold £5 million public liability insurance. A copy is available upon request.

12) Additional Work

Small additional tasks may be carried out at the client’s request but are undertaken entirely at the client’s risk unless agreed in writing.

13) Site Protection

We take all reasonable precautions to protect your property, including masking and covering work areas. Minor dust or overspill will be cleaned where possible.

14) Pre-Existing Damage

Pre-existing damage may be recorded prior to work commencing. We are only liable for damage caused through proven negligence.

15) Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for services under this contract.

16) Payment of Fixed Price Work

Full payment is due on completion. Any complaints must follow the agreed complaints procedure.

Materials remain the property of Handyman Repair Solutions by Acacia until full payment is received.

17) Completion Timescales

We aim to complete work within agreed timeframes but are not responsible for delays caused by weather, illness, or events beyond our control.

18) Product Availability

If specified materials are unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute suitable alternatives with client approval.

PAYMENT & DEPOSITS
19) Deposits

Deposits are payable on the first day of work, with the balance due on completion unless otherwise stated in the quotation.

20) Unpaid Accounts

Unpaid invoices may be passed to a debt collection agency. Additional charges (up to 33%) may apply to recover costs.

21) Privacy Policy

We do not sell or share client information unless required by law. Contact details may be stored for service purposes.

22) Termination

We reserve the right to terminate services in cases of abuse, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour towards staff.

OUR PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT

Our trade professionals comply with our Health & Safety and Conduct standards, including maintaining professional behaviour at all times, refraining from smoking, loud music, and unnecessary phone use on site. They ensure all work areas are properly cleaned before leaving, remove all debris, protect surfaces from dust and damage, wear shoe covers indoors where required, and confirm client satisfaction before departure.
